Family Fun & A Great Opportunity for Influence

This evening I had so much fun with my daughters. Adriana is in Queens with our worship team which is going to participate in the mass choir for Battle Cry next month. The girls and I ate ice cream and watched some more old family videos. We then had a time of talking and sharing with one another followed by some tickle time and an intense game of hide-n-seek. Yours truly is the master! They even called my cell phone when they couldn’t find me after several minutes. lol

This Sunday we are so stoked to be going to one of our favorite places on the planet – southern California. We will be taking our family vacation as well as attending the Purpose-Driven Youth Ministry Conference at Saddleback Church. I am really excited because this year I am not just attending as a spectator, but as a participant. During the session dealing with the purpose of fellowship I will be joining my youth ministry mentor Doug Fields on stage to share how we fulfill this purpose in our small groups ministry. I will then be a part of a panel that will be fielding questions from the audience. I am humbled and honored by this tremendous opportunity to help other leaders which is my ultimate passion and vision in life.

Starbucks The Way I See It #21

I always like when I find this quote on my Starbucks’ coffee cup.

People need to see that, far from being an obstacle, the world’s diversity of languages, religions and traditions is a great treasure, affording us precious opportunities to recognize ourselves in others. — Youssou N’Dour, Musician.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

So last night and this evening we pulled out some 8mm videos and took a trip down memory lane. We watched videos from the girls were just babies, my oldest daughter’s first day of school, my youngest daughter’s first time eating solid foods. We spent hours with nothing but smiles on our faces and laughter in the air. It was fantastic family fun!

Family is my Favorite

I absolutely love my family! There is nothing I love more than spending time with them. I am working hard to change my life and the mindset of those I have the opportunity to influence that family gets our leftovers. Our family should get our first and best … always! This is, of course, easier said than done. Unfortunately, all too often, after fulfilling my other commitments, I am exhausted by the time I get home. Friday night I decided to have a slumber party with my daughters. We stayed up watching a movie and eating a midnight snack. It was a lot of fun, and I know we created a great memory together.

A Fruitful Field by Cliff Schrage, Jr.

Last night I finished reading the book A Fruitful Field, a novel by my friend Cliff Schrage. I really enjoyed the book. It was very well written, a wonderful story that kept me turning the page as a beautiful story of brokenness, hurt, mercy, forgiveness, redemption, and grace unfolded. You can order the book on Amazon by clicking here: http://www.amazon.com/Fruitful-Field-Clifford-Schrage-Jr/dp/1563841827/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236911937&sr=8-1

Food For Thought

“Joy lies in the fight, in the attempt, in the suffering involved, not in the victory itself” – Gandhi.
