A couple of weeks ago Adriana and I enjoyed a fun paint date to Claynation in Glen Cove.
Monday Adriana and I celebrated our 19th anniversary. We had lunch at Red Lobster in Times Square then visited The Hunger Games Exhibition, which was a really neat behind-the-scenes look at how the story was developed and filmed, and also included many of the costumes from the movie sets. In the evening we had the privilege of going to the very exclusive The Rainbow Room on the 65h floor of Rockefeller Center, thanks to the generosity of a friend. We very much enjoyed listening to Max Weinberg (longtime drummer for Bruce Springstein and the E Street Band, and former band leader on Late Night with Conan O’Brien) and his orchestra. He was kind enough to come over and chat with us a bit and wished us a Happy Anniversary. What a very nice gentleman.
Tonight I watched the final episode of The Late Show with David Letterman. I am thankful to my dad for being such a faithful viewer when I was a kid and for instilling in me the importance of ending my days with Dave. All through college the guys from our hall would gather in the lounge and watch the show before retiring to our rooms for curfew. Climactically, last year Adriana and I were able to check something off our bucket list. We got the call and won tickets to go and see the show. It was only a couple of weeks later that Dave announced his retirement. We are so grateful that we got to experience the greatest-ever live and in person on March 4th.
Yesterday I took the day off so Adriana and IÂ spend some time together. We went on two dates. First we went for lunch in Port Jefferson at The Steam Room where we enjoyed a delicious clam bake over a scenic view of the Long Island Sound. Then this evening we went to Huntington and participated in our second Paint Nite. It was a wonderful day with my best friend!
Paint Night Date Night!
Last night Adriana and I had a really fun date night! A few months ago I discovered Paint Nite on Groupon (my new favorite site for creative date nights!). Super fun! Can’t wait to do it again!
Yesterday I was planning to take Adriana on a surprise date to Staten Island to visit a store owned by Drita – one of the stars on the show Mob Wives. The previous night, as I was planning it, I kept thinking it would be a fun thing for her to enjoy doing with her friend LuAnn, but it was too late to invite her along. Well, what a coincidence when LuAnn just happened to stop by our house yesterday morning after a visit to the doctor, and she was free! So, we invited her along with us and we had a great time at Drita’s store Lady Boss, took a quick pic in front of Big Ang’s, then had lunch at the one and only Denino’s brick oven pizzeria. Fun day!
Tonight Adriana and I enjoyed a different kind of date night. We went out shopping and bought ingredients, then came home and made dinner together. We made a margarita pizza and enjoyed it together in candle light with a beautiful bouquet of tulips. We then watched a movie together. What a fun, interactive shared experience. To our friendship!
